O Centro de Investigação em Antropologia e Saúde – CIAS – em parceria com o Grupo de Estudos em Evolução Humana – GEEvH – e o Departamento de Ciências da Vida/Antropologia da Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade de Coimbra, convidam todos os interessados a participar nas VI Jornadas Portuguesas de Paleopatologia, a decorrer nos dias 30 de Novembro e 1 de Dezembro de 2018.
Este evento, que se pretende interdisciplinar, visa contribuir para o conhecimento dos últimos avanços na pesquisa paleopatológica, sobretudo em Portugal, lançando luz sobre a história da Paleopatologia, enquanto “ciência tributária” da Antropologia Biológica, e reforçando o seu papel inquestionável na reconstrução das populações do passado.
As VIJPP terão como principal público-alvo os estudantes e profissionais das áreas da Antropologia, Biologia, Arqueologia/História, Medicina e outras Ciências da Saúde. No entanto, os interessados com formação noutras áreas do conhecimento serão muito bem-vindos.

The Research Centre for Anthropology and Health – CIAS – in partnership with the Group of Studies in Human Evolution – GEEvH – and the Department of Life Sciences/Anthropology of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra, invite all interested parties to participate at the 6th Portuguese Meeting of Paleopathology , to be held on 30th November and 1st December, 2018.
This interdisciplinary event aims to contribute to the knowledge of the latest advances in paleopathological research, especially in Portugal, shedding light on the history of Paleopathology and reinforcing its unquestionable role in the reconstruction of past populations.
The 6thPMP will have as main audience students and professionals of the areas of Anthropology, Biology, Archeology/History, Medicine and other Health Sciences. However, those interested with training in other areas of knowledge will be very welcome.
